Choker necklace with a large silver capped Idar Oberstein Carnelian bead. Center bead is ca. 34x16mm, weight is ca. 16 gram. Cord is made with irish waxed linen and small beads are sterling silver from Bali. This facetted center bead is made in Idar Oberstein for the african trade, probably around a hundred years old. The silver capping was done later on in Nepal with sterling silver, probably end of 20th Ct.
